Joe Clifford

Joe is a PhD candidate in the School of Archaeology and Anthropology in the College of Arts and Social Sciences at the Australian National University studying the relationship between poor urban communities in Yogyakarta and the Indonesian state. His fieldwork, set to be undertaken this year, was disrupted by COVID-19. He is also currently completing a Master of Arts at The University of Auckland in the Development Studies Program where he is researching the appropriation of mutual aid programs by the current Jokowi led government.
