‘Echo’: Art by Rebecca Worth
19 July 2016
I created this body of work because I was fascinated by the way that identity is shaped through the relationship between parents and children.
The identity of a parent and child becomes intertwined, both depending on the other for illumination, shape and completeness.
The boundaries between the two fluctuate as a child accepts or rejects the ideologies that the parent holds. This reinforces or changes their sense of self as a parent.
Boundaries are re-defined, inescapable and constantly changeable.
